Trainee Forum

Introduction
This group works as an active forum to support doctors in training, to work with their training scheme to improve planetary health education, and to support each other in a leadership journey in planetary health.
How we work
The trainee forum is very much run by trainees and for trainees, so it can focus on what is most relevant to them and is also adaptable and open to feedback and suggestions. The current co-leads are Clare Silverwood (North London), Charlie Kind (Brighton) and Hannah Chase (Swindon). We run regular sessions online, open to members and have a dedicated mailing list and an active WhatsApp group. We use these channels to share external events, opportunities and communicate ideas and suggestions, such as sharing success stories in the Planetary Health and Sustainable Healthcare primary care space, whether in your GP practice placement or more widely.
How to access the WhatsApp group
To become a member of the WhatsApp group, you must first join the Greener Practice Network (it is FREE to join the Network Basic membership – just click ‘Become a Member’ below). The WhatsApp group link is then sent to you. If you are already a member but missed the WhatsApp group joining link, then you can get it sent to you again by clicking ‘Account’ -> ‘Edit Profile ’, then scroll down and tick ‘Join GP Trainee Forum’ and save this. You will then be sent a further email with the link to the WhatsApp Group.
Project Library
A really valuable Greener Practice resource for doctors in training is the Project Library, with over 50 step-by-step guide QIPs/QIAs with a sustainable healthcare lens. They can be filtered by time taken, topic of interest and whether relevant for GP trainees. They facilitate achievable and rewarding projects, which can be completed within a rotational timescale, and once completed, a certificate can be downloaded. To access these, you do need the NetworkPLUS membership, which can be paid for individually, or alternatively ask whether your GP practice would consider signing up, as the projects benefit them financially and can be used by all their staff to maximise the practice’s gain from doing them.
Please do not hesitate to email us if you have any queries, suggestions or feedback.
