Introduction:
We are a network of GPs and primary care health professionals founded in September 2022. We believe that climate change is a health crisis and that GPs have a responsibility to make primary care Greener. We help GPs and primary care health professionals share their ideas and experiences of how to reduce the carbon foot print of primary care whilst also delivering high quality care. Greener healthcare is better for our patients, better for our planet and better for our health system.
How we work:
We meet virtually every 6-8 week and via our WhatsApp group we share useful information, articles and local initiatives regarding sustainably and decarbonisation. We wold love to hear from anybody interested in joining us.
What we do:
GSY Greener Practice members have worked together to set up Green Teams in all the Guernsey GP practices and last year all GP practices achieved a bronze award from the Green Impact for Health toolkit.
We have been involved in writing local greener asthma guidelines and have run initiatives to support Better Journeys Week and encourage active travel.
Some members of GSY Greener Practice have joined a new group set up by The Health Improvement Commission which seeks to encourage, educate and increase the uptake of physical activity.

Chair: Dr Tori Toumazi Chair
Dr Victoria(Tori) Toumazi is a GP in Guernsey, having moved there in the summer of 2021 to live a more coastal lifestyle. Tori undertook a masters in health policy due to her passion for equitable and sustainable healthcare and hopes to use that experience to champion greener practice initiatives in the Channel Islands.

I am a GP at Healthcare Group and Choices. I love to be outdoors in nature and want to do what I can to protect the amazing world we live in. I enjoy being part of Greener Practice Guernsey where we have the chance to share ideas and help each other achieve more both in our work places and personal lives. Together we can do more.
