Hereford and Worcester

The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Greener Practice Group had its inaugural meeting on 3/3/2022 so early days and each group is at a different stage of evolution. Having identified some interested colleagues we started by discussing our experiences and aspirations and what we wanted to get out of the group. Starting a new group may feel like a big step but it really just needs a few people and a desire to discuss and spread good practice in sustainable primary care. Reach out and share!

Chair: Alistair Jackson

Alastair is a GP partner in Wyre Forest Health Partnership with an interest in respiratory medicine. Having had an awareness of green issues at home and more widely he recently began to understand the need for primary care to be involved in moving to net zero greenhouse gas emissions in line with the NHS targets. The impact of MDI inhalers on the NHS’s carbon footprint has been an initial driver for action in his practice as well as a developing interest in air quality issues and sharing information about climate change more widely within the practice population.
